WESA mandates ESIC Commissioner, Ian Smith, to conduct independent third-party review of allegations against Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP)

WESA has taken note of recent allegations put forward by former players and employees against the management of Ninjas in Pyjamas and WESA Executive Board Member Hicham Chahine.

WESA takes these allegations very seriously as the organisation aims to amplify sustainable growth of esports, based on the shared values of fairness, transparency, and integrity among all stakeholders.

In accordance with WESA´s Code of Conduct and compliance framework, WESA has decided to mandate Mr. Ian Smith, sports lawyer and Commissioner of the Esports Integrity Coalition (ESIC) to conduct a comprehensive and independent compliance review by the end of August 2019. Ninjas in Pyjamas has agreed to support this independent review, and Mr. Smith will receive full access to all relevant documentation to conduct the review. After the conclusion of his review Mr. Smith will share a public statement outlining his findings.

WESA will not publish any further information on this matter while the independent compliance review is ongoing.

Please contact Mr Smith at ian@esic.gg should you have any relevant information regarding the allegations against NIP. He will not answer media enquiries prior to the submission of his report.
